Some Basics About Blogs
Blog is short for Web-Log. A blog gives you your own voice on the web without having to create a website. It can be as simple and easy as a place to collect and share things that you find interesting, a place to organize your thoughts, or a place to record and reveal your inner thoughts like a diary or journal.
It might also be very sophisticated to provide training, newsletters, updates and technical information. Audiences range from 1 (you) to thousands of visitors per day. Most blogs are fairly simple to manage and can be hosted on someone else's server or on your own. We have provided resources for blogs, in addition to instructions of how to set one up.
Due to the influx of spam, and the frustration of undelivered emails today - a blog is a good way to stay in touch with:
- family members
- business associates
- downline
- customers, and
- large memberships
Inform them to check your blog on a daily or weekly basis and there's no worry about emails being delivered or not.
The Search Engines love blogs because they are a source of continually updated information, unlike outdated, stagnant websites. Add new information daily (or every few days) and the Search Engine Spiders will visit you often. If you are promoting a business - a blog is a must. In fact, my recommendation is to have several blogs, each with a different focus. For Example:
- Personal Resume - Who You Are - Share your family, hobbies and lifestyle.
- Provide information about your business, your products or services.
- Share websites or resources with associates.
